RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Courses

MCA/RYA Yachtmaster Coastal Certificate of Competence is gained by examination, conducted by RYA Yachtmaster Examiners who are independent of our sailing school. This is a minimum requirement for seeking work in the industry. Whether you would like to work in charters, deliveries or are seeking crew work on mega yachts, then this is your first step.

A Yachtmaster Coastal has the knowledge needed to skipper a yacht on coastal cruises, but does not necessarily have the experience needed to undertake longer passages.

In other words, the theory is the same for both Coastal and Offshore, but less practical experience and skills is required for the Coastal Exam.

The pre-exam mileage requirements exist to help ensure you are ready for your exam.
Istion Yachting Academy is very experienced in training Yachtmasters and has developed these programs to satisfy a variety of student's needs. Our success rate is ninety percent over the previous ten years. We are well suited within the industry to offer you the best program that is tailored to your needs. If this is the course that you require then you should contact us immediately for a consultation and begin your career in the yachting industry.
